Bojana Luzija – Remedial Massage Therapist
Back home, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, I was trained as a Physiotherapist and I got my diploma in 1997. I worked in a rehabilitation centre and hospital as a physiotherapist prior to immigrating to Australia in 2001. In 2004 I graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Biology and Sports Science at the University of Canberra, gaining a broad knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, exercise physiology, sports psychology and nutritional science. In 2007 I finished an Advanced Diploma of Soft-Tissue Therapies and became skilful in performing remedial massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, pregnancy massage and lymphatic drainage massage. I have also completed Level 1 Sports Trainer and Advanced Taping Course.
I have been practising as a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist for the past 6 years. I have provided treatment to people of all ages and walks of life while working for a variety of massage clinics and for myself. I worked as a sport massage therapist in AFL and NRL teams assisting those high performance athletes in attaining peak fitness and preparing for and recovering from major events. I have also assisted basketballers, gymnasts and rowers in the Australian Institute of Sport and provided sports massage treatments to Canberra Off-road Cyclists (CORC) at Mountain Bike Skills Weekends.
My goal as a massage practitioner is to restore, maintain and enhance the health and wellbeing of my clients. I achieve this by consulting with them with the aim of providing specific session plans and direct treatment and ensuring they are active participants in their own good health.
